Meet Dr Lizzy

I’m Dr Lizzy von Westerholt, a General Practitioner with a special interest in women’s health.

Before moving from Ireland to Cape Town, I experienced first-hand the challenges of pregnancy and early motherhood. I suffered with hyperemesis gravidarum (severe nausea and vomiting during pregnancy) and faced significant postpartum difficulties. These personal experiences, combined with my clinical work, gave me a much deeper understanding of the real impact these life stages can have on a woman’s wellbeing, confidence, and career.

Professionally, I qualified as a General Practitioner in 2019 and have since gained extensive experience in specialist menopause clinics in the UK and Ireland, community gynaecology, and sexual health. I hold a Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health, British Menopause Society training, and am a member of the South African Menopause Society. I am also qualified in Hormone Health and a Certified Lactation Specialist.
